Product Architecture

Optix in an N-tier client-server application that has clients, an application server, and a database back-end.

The Optix Server provides central access to the repository for all clients: Mac, Windows, and web-based.  It has an API that is used by mindwrap to access the database and repository.  Because all interactions with the system go through this central program, it can enforce business rules, perform authenticaton, and ensure all interactions with the repository are secure.

The Optix Server is highly scalable supporting thousands of users, hundreds of millions of managed objects, and terabytes of data.
